Jon H. Hunt received his BA in Biochemistry from the Universityof Kansas in 1984 and his MA in Microbiology with an emphasis in Immunology in1994. Jon secured his first position in the pharmaceutical field as a technicaldirector of the Hybridoma Laboratory for the Higuchi Bioscience Center at the Universityof Kansas. There he worked independently developed and assisted otherscientists in development of monoclonal antibodies to use in their researchprojects. Subsequently, Mr. Hunt obtained a position as Staff Scientist at theCRO now known as MRI Global. His workthere involved the testing of various vaccine strains to determine potency andeffectiveness for vaccines used for protection of military personnel.
Jon’s experiences made it possible for him to work as asupervisor for the Quality Control Laboratory at Schering Plough Animal Healthwhich was later purchased by Merck. Therehe was responsible for the oversight of testing for numerous vaccine productsfor sterility, potency, viral titer, endotoxin and stability as well asmaintaining the regulatory quality systems and the plants’ environmentalmonitoring program. It was at this point that Jon chose to pursue a career as aPharmaceutical Consultant, working through LVS and independently on manyprojects. Mr. Hunts’ work has focused onsterility and contamination control, environmental monitoring and control,development of quality systems, remediation of these and other areas forcompanies facing FDA 483 and Warning Letters and remediation under ConsentDecrees.
